AJAB PREM KI GAZAB KAHANI Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3.1/5... (For Just time Pass..)

Summary of the Story:-

Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, a comedy set in a comic book universe, is a frustratingly uneven film.
But even in its most limp moments, what keeps the film from derailing is its lead pair: Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. There is such sizzle and beauty and unadulterated charm here that you really can’t look away.

The story, co-written and directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, is set in a picturesque little town, which seems like a cross between Goa and Ooty.

Specifics are irrelevant because Santoshi isn’t aiming for realism here. This is a cheerfully artificial world, in which Prem, played by Ranbir, lives with his parents.

Prem is a 9th standard drop-out whose main job is being the President of the Happy Club. The happy club hopes to make people happy but mostly its members boast about doing nothing.

Enter Jenny, played by Katrina, a lovely lady with a slightly troubling back-story: she is an orphan and the parents who adopted her are now forcing her into marriage with an obnoxious boy only because he is rich.

Jenny and Prem, who both have a tendency to stammer when they are emotionally wrought, become friends. And Prem, who can’t bring himself to tell her that he loves her, finds himself in the uncomfortable position of trying to get Jenny away from her own wedding so she can get together with her boyfriend, Rahul, who has issues of his own.

In its best moments, Ajab Prem is crackling comedy.

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

Santoshi keeps it light, fluffy and fun. There is a real sweetness in the scenes in which Prem and Jenny first discover that the other also stammers.

Some of the dialogues sparkle. The trouble is that the film cannot maintain this tone and energy. So, the humour dips and the gags become forced.

At times, the film strains so hard for laughs that it almost feels like the director is beating you with a stick and ordering you to enjoy it. But even here, Ranbir and Katrina don't let up. Of course, he carries the bigger burden.

Ranbir, as the bumbling nerd, is in almost every frame. Watch him in a ball room scene, in which his body won't stay still or at a cop station, hesitantly declaring his affection for Jenny.

Hopefully someday, Ranbir will find a script that matches his talent.

Ajab Prem isn't it. But the film is engaging enough, as we say in Mumbai, time-pass. Go for it...

VILLAGE LO VINAYAKUDU Review:
-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3/5... Neat and Cute..

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Simple Movie for Families...

Summary of the Story:-

Village Lo Vinayakudu is a sequel to the hit film Vinyakudu. Krishnudu once again plays hero in the sequel and the theme of a fat by falling in love with a slim girl is repeated in this sequel.

Karthik (Krishnudu) is a simpleton. He is a school teacher. Karthik meets a medico Kavya (Sharanya Mohan) and they fall in love. Kavya is the doting daughter of colonel Lakshmipathi. The colonel loves his daughter immensely and brings her up in a very loving and caring way. He takes special care of his daughter as she has lost her mother when she was very young.

Kavya does not hide anything from her father. She tells him everything bout her love and her love. The only problem is that she keeps the fact that Krishndu is fat a secret. When Karthik comes to meet the colonel he is naturally shocked. He is not at all pleased with the idea of his daughter marrying a fatso.

The colonel then approaches his friend Yandamuri Verendranath and asks him to show a way out. Yandamuri offers some ideas but they actually complicate things further for the colonel.

How Krishndu overcomes the hurdles set by the colonel and his friend and come up trumps is the story.

Overall Analysis
of the Movie:-

The film as the title suggests runs for most part on the hero. Krishndu who played the fat hero in Vinayakudu repeats his show in this sequel. He does a neat job and lives up to the reputation he earned in Vinayakudu.

The heroine Sharanya Mohan is a disappointment. She looks too young opposite Krishndu and the two also fail to share good chemistry. Rao Ramesh is good and his comic interactions with Krishnudu are hilarious.

Yandamuri Veerendranath does an average job. His role is also a bit sketchy. The rest of the star cast is okay.

The film Village Lo Vinayakudu has been shot for a most part in rural areas. The village scenes looks beautiful and the locales in Razole and adjoining areas have been captured beautifully by the cinematographer.

The film also has some good songs and music. The film has some decent comedy. However Village Lo Vinayakudu is not in the same class as Vinayakudu. Still the film is okay and makes for a decent watch along with the entire family....

LONDON DREAMS Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3/5... (Can Watch Once for Music and Sallu Bhai)...

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Friendship Vs Love and Betrayal...

Summary of the Story:-

Hail, Salman! Hail! Age may have caught up with him and he may be a little over the hill to play a rock-star, but one cannot help loving his goofy, gross, and womanizing Manu. Playing a yokel from Punjab, Salman Khan does what a young Dharmendra would do today. His Manu in London Dreams is a Punjabi munda who sleeps around with women in his village, has a lot of creditors knocking on his door, plays in a wedding band, and goes behen ke takkei in every next dialogue. It’s a role that would have suited no other star better (except Akshay, perhaps). And Salman rocks, and puts life into ‘London Dreams’.

‘London Dreams’ tells the story of two friends Arjun (Ajay Devgan) and Manu (Salman Khan) from a Punjab village. True to his name, Arjun has been singularly devoted since childhood to just one aim in life - a musical concert at Wembley stadium. Manu, on the other hand, loves to have fun; he’s got talent but little ambition. He’s happy playing in a wedding band in his village and warding off a bunch of creditors with false promises. The friendship takes a new turn when Arjun takes Manu to London to be a part of his band London Dreams which includes two young blokes from Pakistan (played by Ranvijay Singh and Aditya Kapoor) and a sweet-smiling south Indian girl named Priya (Asin) who dances at the band’s concerts.

When Manu begins to emerge as the scene-stealer at the concerts and also wins the love of Priya, whom Arjun silently loves, the latter sees his dream crashing because of his dear friend and decides to ruin Manu’s musical career.

‘London Dreams’ could have done better without the overplayed drama in the second half. Ajay Devgn’s outburst at the Wembley Stadium in front of 90,000 people is overdramatized, and one can’t understand why Ranvijay would willingly conspire with Devgn against Salman. Asin’s character too isn’t properly fleshed out. Playing an Iyer girl from a conservative family, she does pretty little than dancing on stage or rebuffing the flirtatious Manu’s advances.

The silver lining, however, comes from Salman Khan who does justice to the funny and risqué oneliners given to him. Take, for instance, Manu’s flirtation with the airhostess when he sits in a plane for the first time. Or his antics at the elite parties.

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

The movie, in itself, isn’t bad either. Spiced up with racy humour from start to end, it packs in fair enough laughs but not enough musical thrill that is to be expected from a film of this genre. The culprits are Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The trio fails to repeat their Rock On magik when they ought to have, in fact, bettered it. So when the concert songs are played in the film, the music doesn’t make your hair stand on end. The average tunes take the steam out of the plot because the band in the movie is supposed to be a crowd-puller that manages to get the Wembley Stadium packed to the rafters.

Vipul Amrutlal Shah manages to pull off a relatively big production feat in ‘London Dreams’, but his direction and telling of the story is still slack. The film unspools well until the intermission but starts to weigh heavy half way into the second half. Ideally, the drama should have ended at the Wembley concert but the director stretches the story back to Bhatinda. Ajay Devgn is good as the brooding, seething, simmering Arjun, but it’s Salman who walks away with the claps, not just in the film but in theatres as well.

Watch it for Sallu...

"EK NIRANJAN" Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3/5... "BOUNTY HUNTER" searching for his parents...Can watch once for time pass...

The second film in the combination of director Puri Jagannadh and hero Prabhas finally released this Friday to great expectations. Coming with a storyline that is simple, it is packed with action and some already-seen moments.

Summary of the Story:-

Ek Niranjan is the story of an orphan who earns his livelihood by catching hold of the criminals and lawless individuals in the town and handing them over to the police. The dangerous profession Chotu (Prabhas) has chosen often puts his life in jeopardy but this does not worry him for he knows he is 'ek niranjan', with neither a family of his own nor a girl with whom he can have miffts and huffs (Kasubusulade missu ledu). While the search for his mother and father goes on, the Miss enters his life one fine day. Sameera (Kangna Ranaut), a guitar teacher, is the sister of Madhav, a henchman who works in the gang of Johnny bhai (Sonu Sood). Chotu is asked by the police to nab Madhav who is wanted by them for many crimes. When Sameera is feeding her brother, Chotu enters and forcefully arrests him after causing much havoc (breaking her guitar, you know) in the house.

There develops a predictable chemistry between Chotu and Sameera. As her brother reels behind the bars, Sameera reciprocates her love to Chotu. Parallely, another story is taking place in the hero's life. Though he does not have a care in the world for anyone in the world, when it comes to the one who knows the truth of who his parents are and where they live, he becomes soft with him. The peddler who abducts children and makes them beggars had kidnapped Prabhas when he was still a toddler and he is in jail for the crimes. For fifteen years, Chotu pleads with him to tell him about his parents, but to no avail. There is another villain in Jhonny's gang called Kailash who is arrested for allegedly murgdering a minister on the behest of Posani, who now wants Kailash to die so the world does not know the truth that the he was behind the minister's assassination. He is the son of Tanikella Bharani whom Prabhas befriends through Sameera. The hero takes it upon himself to stop Jhonny from killing Kailash. How Chotu elimates Johnnybhai and meets his parents forms the rest of the film.

Overall Analysis
of the Movie:-

Ek Niranjan sounds too routine and ordinary. If Prabhas's self-forgetful dancing in a crowdy area (title track) and his ramrod valour are entertaining, the writer could have mad his character look more brilliant. In a film that has a character speaking philosophically about how the Almighty concocts games with men, there could have been some depth. Given the kind of storytelling we see in Puri's films, one feels there is no Midas Touch here. Everything is so bland and pale. Be it the characterisation or action or comedy, nothing seems new or different. It is Prabhas's energy and verve that help the audience cling to seats. Not just him, the film is watchable for Sonu Sood, who delivers a superb performance. With Brahmaji, he makes the proceedings peppy. Watching the conversations he strikes with his assistant or the adulation he expresses after every scene with Prabhas is entertaining.

The scene in which the heroine expresses her love for Prabhas is heart-touching. However, one is forced to confess that this is not the kind of character an able actress like Kangna should have got. Playing a glamorous role, she is milk-and-water. The bloody look in the climax is churning and peevish.

Surprisingly, the comedy track is hopeless. Puri, who is bright at creating comedy situations, does not show intelligence here. Like a B-grade director, he makes the show with Brahmanandam and his girlfriend worse and more worse. Ali and Sunil, both do not make you laugh even for a moment.

Ek Niranjan is saved by Prabhas, Sonu Sood and Mani Sharma's fine tunes. Nothing else is worth mentioning....

Watch if you have lots of time and just like that you can check out....

BUMPER OFFER Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 2.8/5...

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Nothing New to Offer...

Summary of the Story:- Bumper Offer is another effort by Puri Jagannath to (re)launch his brother Sairam Shankar as a hero and so the entire movie tries very very hard to showcase Sairam but falters miserably due to a predictable story-line and a weak lead actor. This family production has Puri scripting & producing the film where another brother Sriram is the cinematographer and the lead act is by Sairam!!!

What is it about : Sai (Sairam Shankar) is a mechanic from a lower middle class family whose father works for the unscrupulous real estate king Suryanarayana (Sayaji Shinde). Like all good Tollywood heroes, Sai leads a carefree life with his friends until he bumps into Aishwarya (Bindu Madhavi) who is the spoilt and arrogant daughter of Suryanarayana. He promptly flips for her and very soon we have both trying to outsmart each other by literally beating each other up. Then suddenly, Aishwarya realizes that she needs to look beyond bank balances and so falls in love with the poor mechanic. Now the stage is set for a confrontation between the rich father and the poor boy where Sai throws the bumper offer of bringing Suryanarayana down to his level instead of trying to earn as much as him. So the rest of the second half is about how Sai uses different tricks to ruin Suryanarayana’s vast empire and he eventually succeeds.

What is Good: Nothing much to write in this section! Sayaji Shinde puts in good performance and he is supported by others like DVS, Chandramohan and Ali. Bindhu Madhavi puts up a good performance despite her weak characterization of loud spoilt brat and still manages to get noticed. Out of the songs, only Ravullamma and Maikam are remembered despite the mediocre picturisation. There is a good separate comic sub-plot of Ali and Venu Madhav which is spoof on Maghadheera reincarnation angle.

What is bad: The biggest culprit here is the script which has nothing new to offer and moves on quite predictably using all the clichés available. The other weak link is Sairam Shankar who despite many sincere efforts doesn’t click as a “hero” here. He tries emulating Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri character here but fails miserably as he doesn’t have the style or acting skills available to him. His idea of dialogue delivery is to scream them out and there was zero chemistry between him and Bindhu.

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

Give it a miss…. This bumper offer did not have anything new to offer. Apart from Ali's comedy and some good dialogues nothing was there in the movie. Since the story has been written by Puri, you have the mandatory beach song, hero’s first solo number with his friends, fight sequences in by-lanes, smart one liners, aggressive lover boy, etc and so it seems like a rehash of his different movies!!

DON'T EXPECT THIS MOVIE TO BE A GREAT GOER... MOVIE MAY GO AS AN AVERAGE FOR "YOUTH" BECAUSE OF ITS MUSIC AND PURI JAGANNATH'S FAME...

Jayeebhava Review

JAYEEBHAVA Review:
-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 2.8/5...

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Same OLD Story in a New Bottle...

Summary of the Story:- Bhavani Shankar(Mukesh Rushi) and Narasimha(Jayaprakash Reddy) were good friends. But, Yadu(Ashish Vidhyarthi) succeeds in separting them and now they are arch rivals.

Ram(Kalyan Ram) is a young guy persuing his higher studies abroad. Ram happens to meet Anjali(Hansika) in a strange incident. Both of them falls in love. But, they come to know that their fathers were friends once and got separated only because of Yadu, a don now. Ram traps Yadu and sends him to prison. Now he sketches a plan to unite the two old friends and there by tie wedlock with Anjali. Does he succeeds in his job or not forms the rest of the story.

Overall Analysis
of the Movie:-

Performances:

Kalyan Ram: He comes up with a neat performance. He excels in dances and fights. But he suffers from the same problem as all young heroes - dialogue delivery and diction in some scenes. He needs to work on his facial expressions.
Hansika: She looks gorgeous in the film. Her impressive histrionics will surely win the hearts of the Telugu film lovers once again. She is definitely an asset to the film. Her costumes in the film were trendy.

Ali's comedy track is hilarious. Bramhanandam makes sure that his presence is felt. Raghu Babu comedy raises few laughs. Mukesh Rushi, Jayaprakash Reddy and Ashish Vidhyarthi are Okay.

Plus Points:
Kalyan Ram's Screen Presence and NTR Arts banner
Hansika
Songs
Second Half
Production Values
Minus Points:
Old fashioned tale
Screenplay
Climax
Technical Department:

Cinematography is of top notch. Music of the film is good. Director Naren has succeeded to some extent in handling a light hearted subject. The young director delivers a good entertainer despite choosing a familiar plot. Presentation is effective. Screenplay is adequate. Editing could have been better. Production values of the film are grand.

Jayeebhava is a light hearted entertainer. The first half of the film is Okay. The second half is entertaining. Predictable scenes are a big setback to this film. Kalyan Ram's gutsy decision to choose a debutant to direct this film itself calls for big applause.

GHATIKUDU Review

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 2.75/5... Average...

Review Courtesy:- bharatstudent.com

Summary of the Story:-

A typical formula treat, the story begins in Kolkata and here is Ashok (Suriya), a professional killer. He grows up with Ibrahim (sayaji shinde) and now he gets an assignment from Dr Abul (rahul dev). The target is a judge (bharat gopi) who is heading an enquiry commission and is all set to nail the bad people. However, Ashok misses the one chance he gets. He decides to take it personally and disguises himself as the relative of the judge's home servant Banerjee (vadivelu). He changes his name to Govinda and here he also meets Tara (Nayantara). From then on, he begins to make plans to kill the judge but then there is a deeper secret and reason why Ashok is there. What is that reason? Why is he there? all this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a formula storyline and though the presentation was good, the narrative lacked depth. The dialogues were okay, the script had flaws, the screenplay was racy. Background score was disturbing and unwanted at many places. Three songs are good. Cinematography was nice, stunts and action sequences were impressive, editing could have been better, costumes were standard and art department was good at few places. Suriya came up with an energetic and versatile performance, his act as a 12 year old is a highlight, Nayantara needs to change her make up, hair style and remove her nose stud at any cost. She looks terrible and drained out. Bharat Gopi was elegant, Rahul Dev was not strong, Sayaji Shinde was not used properly, Vadivelu was a real show stealer and he gave a lot of humor, B Saroja Devi was energetic and did her bit well, the others contributed as required.

Conclusion:
The film was a typical masala movie and followed the commercial formula of fights, sentiment, romance, comedy. However, it is only the comedy that worked in the first half and the story doesn't take off till the second half. Fights were good but romantic track was weak, the climax was really stale and didn't have the punch and intensity. The film might appeal to the front benchers given the logic but then there is not really much to feel the impact. This will be a barely average treat and would depend on the word of mouth.

Bendu Apparao Review

BENDU APPARAO Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3/5... Old Kinda Comedy.. But, Good...

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Entertainer...Good 2 watch for this Diwali...

Summary of the Story:-

Finally it is a good film by EVV Satyanarayana. After a long time this is one film that has a perfect balance of sentiment and comedy. There has been no overdose of either two emotions, one can just relax and while away the time. At the end of the film you will still wonder why the film has been named Bendu Apparao. Surprsingly even Naresh doesn't show up with a hunch in this hilarious drama.

Apparao i.e., Naresh has umpteen followers and fans, they believe he can cure any disease and he exploits the gullible people to the maximum and that for a reason. He wants to make a fast buck as his sister is being harassed by his brother in law Krishna Bhagwan for not bringing dowry. On one occasion he runs into Padma i.e., Kamna Jetmalani and there is song, dance and love.

Padma's father is a zamindar's son..Ahuti Prasad who has a strange but an adorable trait. He loves to treat a guest even though he is a beggar in a kingly manner befitting his status. Now his mother Telangana Shakuntala and his aide Raghu Babu form a separate trio to provide laughs.

here are other comedians Srinivas Reddy, Uttej, Kondavalasa who do a good job as useless guys wasting and whiling away their time on cards. LB Sriram is a man obsessed with his fowl Samarsimha Reddy, feeds it cashew pakodis but finally his expression is not known..did he really learn that he had gobbled it up for dinner? Balakrishna's dialogue was massacred and so very funnily..when Suman Shetty says "nee intikostha nattintikostha." And the reply he get's is "yenti nee intiki na intiki vostha antunnavu, nuvvemaina adukkunevadiva?"

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

The coastal area is shown well and the locations are picture perfect, the ambience is natural. There are times when the movie goes slow when a murder incident takes place but the director pulls the gears and all's well that ends well. Kamna Jethmalani looks really beautiful having lost lot of weight and Meghana Raj does her job well as the teacher, she apparently makes debut in Telugu. D. Ramanaidu fits the bill as a collector in a guest role.

For Naresh, this is another wholesome plus..succeeds in entertaining the audiences..be it his songs and dances. He somewhat looks dull throughout the film, his smile is not wholesome. Ahuti Prasad entertains you from his first scene to the climax and the climax is whacky. A perfect entertainer for diwali..go for it! Thumbs Up for Naresh and E.V.V...

ALL THE BEST Review

ALL THE BEST Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3.1/5... Only for Good Time Pass...

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Haunted Comedy...

Summary of the Story:-

Settled in Goa, Veer (Fardeen) is a singer by profession and is making a daily living out of his older brother Dharam’s (Dutt) sent pocket money. Veer has even lied to Dharam that he is now married and aiding him in all his lies is his buddy Prem (Ajay Devgan). Though in reality Veer is in love with Vidya (Mugdha) but her father hates him. Prem however is married to Jhanvi (Bipasha) who is looking after his ancestor’s outdated gymnasium. Things go awry for Prem and Veer as they end up losing a lot of money and are neck deep in debt. Just then Dharam takes a detour to Goa en route his travel to Lusoto. With his sudden arrival, Veer and Prem don’t get time to cover up their lies and Dharam mistakes Jhanvi to be Veer’s wife and Vidya to be Prem’s girlfriend. What chaotic situations it all leads to with multiple characters dropping in to make their problems more complicated forms the rest of the film.

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

All The Best is undoubtedly the most entertaining film amongst the 2009 Diwali releases. Rohit Shetty has yet again got it right when it comes to keeping his audience laughing without resorting below the belt humour and vulgar interludes. Witty one-liners and hilarious sequences involving Dutt and Johnny Lever have you laughing out loud. However, the first half isn’t that gripping. But the second half covers up for it with confusions multiplying and each actor also contributing his comic best. The length however appears stretched as it runs around 2 hours 25 minutes. Some gags could have been shorter one feels. Pritam’s music is perfect for the film.

Ajay Devgan showcases his improved comic timing and towers above the rest. Dutt too is in top form and entertains. Fardeen is passable. Bipasha and Mugdha don’t have much to do but be a part of the chaos which they do ably. Johnny Lever finally after a long time gets a meaty funny part and he utilizes this opportunity to the maxim. Sanjay Mishra and Ashwini Kalsekar make the proceedings funnier.

It’s a total paisa vasool entertainer and worth a Diwali outing....

Main Aur Mrs Khanna Review

MAIN AUR MRS.KHANNA Review:-

RATING FOR THE MOVIE:- 3/5... Worth Watching Once

TAG FOR THE MOVIE:- Romantic Love Story...

Summary of the Story:-

Directed by sohail khan, the movie has Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Sohail khan in the lead roles along with Yash Tonk, Preity zinta doing a cameo and Deepika Padukone in a special appearence in the film.
The story is about husband and wife played by Salman(Samir Khanna) who has everything such as love success and prosperity but would be losing it very soon, he’s in transit and wondering whether to fly away from it all or stay back. Kareena kapoor playing the character of Raina who loves her husband very much and has undying loyalty towards him. However his pursue of success drifts them apart and kareena finds solace in Sohail Khan playing the character of Akash is a carefree person who has set his heart on wining the heart of a married woman(Kareena). The movie does have interesting moments and debutante director Prem Soni, has worked on the film but the weak story line gives away the game. Salman and Kareena are good especially Kareena.

The story takes place in an international airport where our three stars have to decide which route to take and which destination to land upon. Be it Salman who believes in being the provider of the family or Kareena who is an orphan and believes in being a loving wife or Sohail who has a devil may care attitude and has fallen in love with Kareena and wants her at the expense of her marriage. So what will be he decisions taken by these people and where will there decisions land them. Salman has to leave Melborn and Fly to Singapore and wants Kareena to take a flight to Delhi. But Kareena wants to stay back in Melborn (without the knowledge of her husband). On the same airport Kareena manages to find a job with the help of her friend ‘s friend played by Mahek Chal. Kareena Meets Sohail at the same airport and they became friends and Kareena trusts this newfound friend completely. Complications arise when the husband resurfaces and Kareena has to choose one of them.

Overall Analysis of the Movie:-

The movie directed by Sohail Khan is watchable once. Its not a topic that we havent heard about and infatuations do occur. It’s a movie based on emotional drama and the music has not turned out to be that popular except for 'Don't Say Alvida' and 'Rabba' which are melodious compositions. It has some wonderful dialogues and cinematography is fantastic. However it wont hold torch to Blue or All the best....
